Only Malayan Tapir's color blocked black and white.
They named after a beast from Chinese mythology, known in Japanese mythology as the 「Ba-ku(獏)」.

⑦ Malayan Tapir

This Malayan Tapir will be seen near by the first cafe you walk in to the zoo.It wasn't that crowded when I went to see him, but he will help you to kill times while you are waiting on a long line to get drinks and foods when it's on the vacation season or a long weekend.

I think most of all people would remind an animal which color blocked to white and black when you hear a "tapir". but actually only Malayan Tapirs have been this color blocked style. They have snout which looks like a elephant's nose on the pig alike body. And as a Japanese, they reminds me "BA-KU" a mythological beast which can eat people's nightmares, from Chinese and Japanese mythology.

Although they frequently live in dryland forest, they will have good time under the water as well. But since their habitat has been destroyed by development, they have been listed as "Endangered species" in the Red List.
